The Breakers are an unstoppable force

Round 1 of the North-coast Interclub series kicked off at Kingscliff on Sunday 24th November. The record number of 1700 participants made the competition very fierce however this did not stop the Byron Breakers from achieving their best. Check out these impressive results for the Sprint distance 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run which was the main event for the Triathlon NSW participation and performance points series.


Paivi Haninen 1:12:40 2nd place (35-39w) Age Group and 10th overall out of 218 females

Huw Jones 1:13:16 4th place (55-59m)

Deb Fuller 1:19:00 3rd place (55-59w)

Will Glasson 1:19:04 8th place (30-34m)

Daniela Costa 1:21:57 4th place (30-34w)

Jess Schaffer 1:22:56 7th (30-34w)

Robyn Darke 1:24:06 4th (55-59w)

Giulia Scurria 1:25:55 11th (25-29w)

Greg O'Meara 1:28:38 11th (55-59m)

Danielle Van Zuylen 1:29:44 7th (55-59w)

Claire O'Meara 1:30:46 9th (55-59w)

Peter Clarke 1:34:05 2nd (70-74m)

Nerida Clarke 1:38:00 1st (65-69w)

Our swim coach Andy Kean was first out of the water smashing the 1.5km swim in 22min27secs followed by a 40km ride in 1:16:26. He finished 4th in the Mens Open Aqua bike event.


Georgina Inwood always favouring longer distances competed in the Olympic event and finished strongly in 2:53:31


Sandra Killen entered the Enticer event (350m swim/10km cycle/2.5km run last minute to see if she could complete a triathlon and without a doubt smashed it in 42:52 taking out 1st place in the 60-65 and 13th overall.


Round 2 is being held in Yamba on Dec 8th 2019.
